 On the question of identity in Iran I naturally tu to the aspect of Iranian culture that I have found most motivating during my study of Farsi, ever since I first encountered it. This aspect is thoroughly intertwined with the notion of Iranian identity and is a matter of passionate interest as well as pride and adoration seemingly for almost all Iranians. This aspect is of course poetry, and scarcely an Iranian national have I encountered that has not expressed some joy at the opportunity to discuss his or her nation's strong poetic  tradition with an interested foreigner. Later poets, (such as Mohammad Hossein Shahryar, Nima Youshij, Sohrab Sepehri and Ahmad Shamlu) are much loved by many, but is the work of the "Classical" Iranian poets that seems to engender an almost universal adoration that transcends the various distinctions between Iranians (ethnic, social, ideological... such as will exist in such a vast and diverse nation) and provides an invaluable cultural lynchpin, such Cultural Studies...ادامه مطلب

  The vast majority of discussion of inteet usage in Iran seems to revolve around filtration of websites and other restrictions. Whilst the recent history of the inteet in Iran is thoroughly punctuated with changes in the nature and extent of filtration on available sites, regarding inteet usage in Iran solely through the prism of restriction is problematic since there can barely be a nation that taken on the challenge of the rapid proliferation of such a vast resource or such an unwieldy political, academic and social tool without issue. This is particularly the case when we take into account Iran's very large and very young population, as well as the generally youthful condition of the Islamic Republic of Iran at the dawn of the inteet age; a strong and comparitively stable state in an otherwise dangerous region that was nonetheless still emerging from the decade of conflict and other exteal pressure that followed its birth As late as 2002 there are accounts of joualists Cultural Studies...ادامه مطلب
